Penelope is probably the most promising of our 2024 retained doelings. Her dam Scarlet scored VEEE 90 at her first appraisal as a 7-year old, and Penelope has a level back, long rump, strong legs, and appealing head and face.

Penelope is a "people person" despite being dam raised and we think she will have a great future as a milker thanks to the influence of her sire. We look forward to taking her to a few shows at the end of this season.

Her registered name is to honor her dam Scarlet, and a reference to the first published Sherlock Holmes mystery. Penelope's littermate brother Lofty Hearth Mycroft Holmes is now junior herdsire with our friends at Ascutney View Farmstead in Windsor County, Vermont.
